Illegal Street Racing. Reckless Driving. Excessive Speeding.
Teenagers and young adults are fascinated by it. Most parents and caregivers are unaware of it. Lawmakers are “at their wits end” over it. Law Enforcement are have invested millions of dollars to police against it. The AJ Project, Inc. is committed to ending it. The AJ Project, Inc. is a vehicle of life, working with teenagers, young adults, lawmakers and law enforcement to stop the spread of this deadly danger. Together, we can (and we will) slam the brakes on illegal street racing and reckless driving!
How Do We Do This?
Through our robust Awareness and Prevention Strategies. Illegal Street Racing and Reckless Driving is a national epidemic that seemingly grew in silence. We shine the spotlight on it, knowing that, once we raise the visibility of its prevalence, deadly and destructive ways, then we can help to contain its spread while working to prevent its growth. There exists a false perception that illegal street racing & reckless driving is nothing more than “kids being kids”, a “rite of passage”, and “harmless, innocent fun”. Daily, we bombard those lies with the TRUTH!
“Teaching is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela said this and we agree. We are changing the minds of young adults through through our Prevention Courses and our Diversion Courses. We also utilize Speaking Engagements, Workshops, Outreach Activities and Survivor’s Support Group, as conduits for Truth and Life.
The situation is critical. In 2022, Motor Vehicle Fatalities was THE leading cause of death in Young Women, ages 13-19 and the second leading cause of death in Young Men, ages 13-19. This figure does not include the over 200K emergency room visits made by young adults due to injuries sustained in car crashes.

NHTSA estimates that 8,730 people DIED in motor vehicle traffic crashes in the first three months of 2021, a 10.5% increase from the 7,900 fatalities the agency projected for the first quarter of 2020. These increases in fatalities come even as driving declined…in the first three months of 2021 (driving) decreased by 2.1%.
Drivers who remained on the roads engaged in more RISKY BEHAVIOR, including SPEEDING, failing to wear seat belts, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“We must address the TRAGIC LOSS OF LIFE we saw on the roads…by taking a TRANSFORMATIONAL and COLLABORATIVE approach to safety” – Dr. Steven Cliff, NHTSA Acting Administrator
